Which one is you?

My personal political beliefs are based on freedom and liberty. If you are reading this, then you are already intimately aquatinted with censorship on the net and "Big Brother". I too am familiar with the juggernaut of restraint and intrusion which is the U.S. Government.

My proposed new National Anthem for the U.S. EMPIRE.

Having found no respite from this oppression of personal liberty in either the paranoia of Republican rhetoric nor the dementia of Democratic socio-engineering, I have now turned to the very same philosophy which this nation was built upon. Libertarianism. I will not endeavor to "sell" this philosophy or it's present day political arm here. It stands on its own, and requires little help from me. If however, you would like to investigate the principals of Libertarianism further, I invite you to read the following editorials (actually, the editorial on "Dixie" is not necessarily about Libertarianism, but it did create quite a stir in Good 'ole Charleston, S.C.);

I am also a card carrying member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). This was actually not an easy decision for me to make. I find myself in agreement with them about 65% of the time, but when we agree....we agree! Besides, they are the single best defense the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights has in this country. Who else is going to defend Nazi's and the Klan. "What?" you say. "Defend them?!" That's right...because if  you don't protect their rights...yours and mine are next. It is a deceptively short step from one to the other.

Take a look at the Declaration of Independence as a brief reminder of what this nation is supposed to be about.

Would you like to now where you are in the political spectrum? Take this simple test to determine your political leaning. Its quick,fun and may give you some personal insight...it did for me.

In the mean time, I am headed to the nation of "Oceania" where I can study dolphins and write poetry free from the oppressive weight of this Government.
